In many cases, a better alternative since you benefit from professionals keeping the system software up to date, fixing bugs and answering your questions. It is a superior alternative to Virtual Private Servers (VPS) if all you require is the ability to run your own web or application server (such as Apache).

This package allows you to run your own web server (Apache is the most popular choice) with the modules and configuration you want. You can also run other types of servers. The only difference compared to a dedicated server is a minor configuration detail: you must bind to a high port number and let us know, so that we can configure our router to "rewrite" packets, allowing the standard port numbers to be used. This renders root access unnecessary.

VPS providers are making lots of profit from an unnecessary application of what is really a neat technology, but designed for other purposes. Using and maintaining a VPS when all you need is the ability to have your own web server (such as Apache) or application server is a mistake. Your "root shell" will cost you more money, more maintenance work and you will only get reduced performance compared to what our Advanced package is providing.

If you are not familiar with Apache, we can take care of installing and configuring your web server for you. You have full access to your httpd.conf, and you can recompile/reinstall your Apache (or other server software), whenever you need, without us being involved.
